Body turns iodide into iodine??? No iodine needed?
i ve copied this of an years old thread here :
"Actually, what happens is the organs which require
Iodine undergo a process called "organification," where enzymes make
Iodine from iodide. The breast tissue is one of these organs which do this.
Iodine does not occur anywhere in nature in any food source. All ingestible forms of iodine are in the
Iodide form. The enzyme which accomplishes this organification in the thyroid gland is called thyroid peroxidase and the one in breast tissue is lactoperoxidase."
now i m asking myself. If iodine doesnt occur in nature
and its even causing too much oxidative stress to certain ppl
and we r anyways able to turn
Iodide into iodine ....
then why do we take iodoral and lugols???
wouldnt taking
Iodide alone cause much less oxidative stress
on our bodies ?
how can one know if ones body is able to do this
iodide to iodine change?
And how much iodine per day does one need?
Lets say a woman who weighs 70 kg , B cup breasts.Who already takes 100mg+
Lugols for one year and before that half a year of 12,5-50mg Iodoral.
How much Iodine would such a person actually require?
