Re: Is this a Powerful Message or a Religious Message?

When I use the term Pentecostal, I am not referring to a denomination. There are many denominations which are considered Pentecostal. Some denominations have the term "Pentecostal" in their name. That can cause confusion when using the term. Some may think I am identifying myself with one of those denominations. When I say I am Pentecostal I mean that I believe that the gifts of the Spirit are for today as well as in Bible times. I definitely do not believe the way all Pentecostal denominations believe. Using the definition of the term "Pentecostal" like I do (not referring to a denomination) means that you are also Pentecostal because you share these beliefs. At least I know that you believe tongues are for today. That would qualify you to be considered Pentecostal.

Your post reads to me like you think I am referring to a denomination that I claim to be in called "Pentecostal". This is not true.

I was raised Assemblies of God which is considered a Pentecostal denomination because they believe that the gifts of the Spirit are for today.

I don't know what church you are talking about that is a Holiness Church that seems extreme. I don't know what church you are referring to that has a disregard for what the Bible says. There are a whole lot of messed up churches out there. That's why I stopped associating with them all.

I don't know what you mean when you say I am reaching for more Pentecostal. The Bible is clear that we should desire the best gifts so if you mean that I am reaching for the best gifts ok and that is biblical. Anything that I am reaching for in the line of Pentecostal is biblical. I do not disregard the Bible.

There are many Assemblies of God churches. While they are all the same denomination I have found that they differ greatly in the services. I guess it depends on the pastor a lot. In the church I was raised in people did not fall on the floor when they were prayed for, nor did they have tics, flop on the ground, or any other manifestation that was not biblical. They did not fake things. If it was not from the Holy Spirit it did not happen. No, I do not have tics and I am not seeking any. I have the same questions as you do about these things. I listened to the stuff on the Internet and at one time thought it was demonic. My mind is more open about it now. I am like you. I am seeking God on this strange stuff going on.

"...but I don't expect it in our ministers while they are glorifying God. Do you understand my thoughts?"

Yes, I understand your thoughts. I'm sorry I do not have answers for you. I am seeking God for answers myself on these things. I can tell you that I am definitely not seeking these strange manifestation myself if that is what you are referring to as far as my reaching for more Pentecostal. Also, I have never experienced them. I am only reaching for more of God and one does not have to be Pentecostal to do that.
