This issue is whether it is right for one church to claim the other does not have the indwelling of the Holy Spirit and so does not produce fruit.
The organized church has been producing fruit for hundreds of years. One church's fruit may be different than the other...that's all. I'm against a church invading another and trying to change it when they are already serving God the way they are meant to.
I'm happy that there are churches laying on of hands and people are being healed. I have no problem with that. I like the fact that they go out into the mission field and bring people to Christ.
Why are we not all in this together? I will give the Pentecoastals credit for some types of fruit that is a blessing to the world that other churches don't do, but the rest of the churches have been actively in the fields as well for a long time, building hospitals and feeding and caring for the needy, spreading the gospel.
Are we suppose to just act as though we are finished? The next act has moved on over us and we are out? Or worse, feel run over and taken over against our will? Are we suppose to act like something new and improved has just moved into town and we never made a dent?
I'm not trying to run anyone off here. I'm just trying to point out that your sisters and brothers in Christ have a right to serve God in the manner that they were called. No one should be overriding the rest of the body of Christ in the area of whether they speak in tongues, fast enough, raise the dead, or have to "prove" that the Holy Spirit has anointed them.
If anyone sees this as sin that needs eradicated...then we have a problem.
I'm not talking about whether a church is in blatant disobedience to God as the P-USA has done. Yes you can pray for churches that are in error.
All the baptism of the Holy Spirit is...is being "filled" with the Holy Spirit. The more filled, the more fruit one will produce...that's all that means. If people want that, they will ask for it themselves...but all true christians have the Holy Spirit and can produce fruit to different degrees.
I'm totally against a church coming into my church and trying to force something in a deceptive way. If they want to pray for revival in other churches, let them pray within their own homes and their own churchs. They shouldn't lie to us and come into our place of worship and think they are pulling one over on us.
I can't make it any clearer than this. I hope everyone understands.
