Re: Is this a Powerful Message or a Religious Message?
Hi Refreshed,
I found the post you wrote that shocked me. The part that shocked me states:
"Now that being said, there are those who seem to fret over not fasting enough, or finding the time to bow before God in holiness which comes across as more of a lack of security to me."

I really felt you were putting me down indirectly because of all my posts on fasting and prayer, my being frustrated with not having the time and discipline to do this as much as I feel the Lord would have me. I felt like you were trying to tell me that you think I am insecure as a Christian because of this, but you didn't want to come right out and accuse me of it.
This is why the questions I asked with the video I posted on fasting and prayer made sense to me, but not to you. Most of the time when I ask questions it is not because I do not already have strong beliefs about the subject. I am confident in most of my beliefs. It is to get others to think about the subject at hand. If they have a different view it gives them an opportunity to express themselves. Sometimes it leads to a great discussion where learning takes place.
So when I asked the questions I had your past post in mind. I really wanted to see if you still felt that fasting showed a lack of security. I was disappointed that you ignored the questions. I also felt that some people may think too much fasting and prayer may be legalistic and done because of religious spirits controlling them instead of pure motives. I wanted to see the beliefs of others with my questions. I guarantee you I didn't ask the questions because I could not hear the Holy Spirit on the issue.
I was really happy with your reply because it showed me that you do believe in fasting and prayer. You believe in it so much that you did not even remember your prior post. When you wrote the prior post it was at a time when you were not happy with me. Remember this one: http://curezone.com/forums/fm.asp?i=2143091#i
Well, you must know it didn't make me feel too great to think that you were calling on others to help get rid of me. This was six months ago. I was shocked that you disagreed to that extent with my posts because I posted truth. Some of it may be misunderstanding, but I realized at that point that you probably are influenced by some brainwashing as well. I didn't expect that from you.
Now this part of your post I fully agree with: "We can be obedient and worshipful all through out the day with the time God has given us. The Holy Spirit is with us all the time if we are believers."
This is good, however, it does not let people like me off the hook for more fasting and prayer if that is what God is calling me to do. Your comment applies to all of us, however, it is no excuse for some of us. It may be fully what God wants from others.
Hope this helps clear some things up.
