Re: The obvious problem....
Yes the right meds taken in a high enough dose will help to lower the load of parasitic helminths.
But this does not mean that the human or the pet will not be infected anymore, because there are many ways to get infected.
What i meant is that it is nearly impossible to not be infected by some parasites. But if the load is low enough, a human or a pet can live without annoying symptoms.
The problem is that a human has to be diagnosed has being infected to access the right meds, and the current tests (blood, feces, urine, phlegm) are no reliable.
Doctors clearly underestimate or do not consider the parasitic helminths problem.
When i was a teenager i suffered from asthma and chronic cough, these symptoms can be linked to a kind of roundworm infection, but no doctor has ever told me that. Instead they tried to find which allergies i had (the foods and the environment) when what really happened was that i was chronically irritated by these worms and their larvaes. (disgusting to say but it is what it is)
I have talked with people who work with horses or cows or pigs, who find normal to regularly "deworm" the animals but never treat themselves. Why ?
Same thing with people who live with dogs or cats, they never or rarely treat their own bodies. Why ?
And the doctors in my country don't seem to consider these infections as a cause of disease, why ?
