Re: Legumes and candida
I concur Leo - it's a b**ch of a thing to be underweight and try to manage on a candida diet.
White rice, as suggested plays havoc with my intestines - yet brown rice is tolerable.
Sometimes i wonder - the foods which make us bloated and gassy might not be foods that are FEEDING candida - instead might be foods candida doesn't enjoy so hence the symptoms!?
If i were to have a wheat slice of bread i can digest it no problem. Brown rice no problem.
I find it confusing to go by symptoms as i do wonder - candida makes us crave carbs and
Sugar - when we eat those foods we feel a kind of 'satisfaction' - when we deny those foods we feel pangs and intolerable stomach conditions...no matter how many 'anti-candida' foods we eat - i still feel hungry.
I seriously would fast for 30 days if i didn't have very low adrenal function.
I achieved respiratory relief from candida in the lungs when i fasted on lemon water for 3 days - but in terms of the adrenals - i was done-in, had no energy. Yet much easier breathing from the fast.
I'm tempted to do some serious shock treatment in terms of irradicating candida (as i havent focused for any length of time on anti-fungals - just altered diet) so i don't have any resistance to antifungals (yet) - but with endocrine imbalances i'm too weak to do that to my body system.
I would even give the pure turps/sugar cubes method a try!
So do you find low carb diet works better than a high carb diet? Seems people respond differently to both...depending on the extent of candida body take-over i guess.
