Re: 21 months post, new treatment plan
I am so sorry to hear you are having such a rough time. It broke my heart to read your post. My daughter has been dealing with the Mirena nightmare for over a year now and has had it out almost 4 months. I understand your anger, frustration and loss of hope because as soon as it gets a little better, it seems to bottom out. I have witnessed my daughter go thru such hell, pain, and misery, there have been days I have asked myself, how much more can a person take, when is this going to end, is she/we ever going to get our lives back? As bad as it's been, it's still 'better' than when she had the mirena. You just have to keep fighting, and get as much rest as you can, and try whatever it takes until you find something that helps you, and get as much support as you can from any family, friends, and forums like this and people who know what you are going thru, and just do whatever it takes to survive and get thru each day. I have taken my daughter to pretty much every kind of Dr there is, hospitals and had so many tests and by all accounts she is 'normal', if only that were true. We have made a lot of progress in the last 3 weeks and she's doing a lot better, she started yet another treatment plan and is taking Savella (for fibromyalgia like symptoms, body aches/bone and joint pain, fatique, brain fog and anxiety). She has a lot of nerve pain also, numbness/severe burning/tingling in her hands/feet and is now taking Gabapentin for that. She takes Hydroxazine at night to help with the anxiety/panic feeling she sometimes gets at night, it seems to really help her rest. She has also been using 'Balance Woman' a natural projesterone cream we got on amazon (it said a lot of women going thru menopause use it, as well as young women that just have bad PMS symptoms) and has also been drinking Mangosteen (just because a lot of people with fibro/auto immune problems swear by it). She also takes B12 and magnesium daily. With that being said, we have tried a lot of different medications. treatments, combinations and so far this is the BEST she has felt and swears that the Savella alone has made her feel a thousand times better. So for anyone that has tried 'everything' with little or no success, these may be some 'new' things to talk to your Dr about, if you are having fibromyalgia like body/muscle/joint/leg pain, neuropathy, anxiety, fatique, brain fog etc, after having the Mirena. We tried the 'natural' path, detox, vitamins, supplements etc and didn't see a big difference. Also she has not had to take ANY PAIN medication at all in the last 3 weeks, tylenol/ibuprofen only. Anyway, I hope this information helps you/others. This may seem 'extreme' but we decided we would just keep trying until we found something that worked! Time will tell but so far so good. Hang in there and keep fighing, Hailey56
