Re: Is it possible to stop degenerative disc disease?

>>"Hope you are well?"<<

I am very well thank you.

>>"In view of the radiation leak in Japan earlier this year are you using different sources for your Kelp and other seaweed products?"<<

The radiation leak is still going on and it is a global disaster. Nothing will be quite the same from here on out. I chose Thorvin for my Kelp source along with Maine Coast Sea vegetables. I had a pretty sizable stash before even the BP oil spill and do not know if the time comes to buy more if I will or not. It will depend upon my research. I think Thorvin and Main Coast may still be two of the better sources at this time though.

>>"Do you think we need to avoid food products that are from Japan or the Pacific ocean?"<<

From Japan, yes. Countries are rejecting their imports due to contamination. It may take another year or two, but I expect Japan's economy to crash at some point if it keeps up. The only reason it has not is due to vast injections of cash from central banks (one source stated about 85 billion a day at one point) to keep it propped up - and global economic failure from causing any concern.

I will still do wild caught fish, Alaskan Salmon and Halibut, but I am getting more and more reluctant to be sure. I avoid sardines now from most sources after the die offs around the world, especially off of the California coast. That was a red flag to me.

>>"In one our previous post we had discusssed supplementation and one of thesupplements was the Nutritional Yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae.

I recently came across an article (see below) claiming that Nutritional Yeast is a Neurotoxin and is closely related to MSG.

Although I agree with what is said about MSG is this company I wonder if they are just using Nutritional Yeast claim as a marketing gimic to diffrerentiate their product?

Do you have any opinion on this claim and are you aware of any expert who can clarify the accuracy of this claim?"<<

I have not purchased nutritional yeast a second time as I have come to prefer Brewer's Yeast by Lewis Labs. That said, keep in mind that the form of *something* matters a great deal. Articles like these should be investigated further for accuracy and validation of their sources.

For instance the fluoride found naturally, in organic, properly grown foods is complexed into a compound that is fairly safe (not to someone with fluoride toxicity issues) and no more dangerous than table salt.

Your best bet is to understand how to repopulate your gut flora back to what it should be... this is difficult because you would have to understand that in terms prior to food sanitation practices like pasteurization and refrigeration, etc., in addition to most people getting their foods within a stones throw of their home.

A healthy gut flora will produce vitamin K, B vitamins, enzymes, fatty acids and many of the *supplements* you may need with the exception of minerals, and certain essential and semi-essential proteins and fats that contain vitamins A and D, and a few other *vitamins*, phytonutrients, etc., those you must consume.

I only have a few minutes a day to check in here, and no time to research this... so you may want to do that for yourself if you have the time.

blessings,

grz-
