Re: Is it possible to stop degenerative disc disease?
>>"Do you use MSM and or Glucosamine?"<<
I have tried both...
I think the MSM unnecessary if taking Epsom Salt baths and using a pinch of Epsom salts with your meals... and\or eating a great amount of your vegetable intake sulfur rich foods, especially greens.
Glucosamine was not any help for me at all... MSM seemed to help... to a point. Keep in mind that *NO* supplement is effective by itself. It both acts and reacts to the nutritional terrain (your body), and all other nutrients within it. Taking too much of one can offset and\or imbalance any number of others.
I am of the opinion that nutrient ratios are much more important than nutrient amounts.
>>"I am using the dead sea bath salts I mentioned in an earlier post. Must I also continue with the Epsom salts baths?"<<
Choose to do which ones help you out... For me, the Dead Sea salts were a one time thing, because of *my* reaction to it.
>>"I am also considering applying dead sea mud, what is your opinion of this?"<<
I like edible calcium montmorillonite clays a lot, including clay packs... I am not familiar with dead sea mud, but would think they are somewhat similar.
>>"Is a Brita water filter good enough?"<<
Depends upon your raw water source and what is in it (how it is treated). Some real good well or spring waters may need nothing more than a particulate (undissolved solids) filter.
>>"I found a posting describing the ML Protocol at
http://curezone.com/forums/fm.asp?i=1244068
Can you add anything to this post even some explanations if possible?"<<
I cannot improve upon that post... My only suggestion is to fully understand that we are all different. Our needs for the protocol, may be for more or less of an ingredient or dose than that of another.
>>"In another post of yours (see link below) you describe how your receding gums are growing back. Was this from using the ml protocol alone or were there any other techniques used?
In fact were all the improvements due to the ml protocol?"<<
The vast majority of my success has been due solely to the ML protocol. Keep in mind that this includes the use of high quality, whole foods and a healthy lifestyle and attitude.

You mention your exercise schedule at the link above.
I do a lot of walking with out any problems, however other exercise like very light weights, thera bands and stretching eventually cause me pain or discomfort. I hope to do martial arts one day.
Is there any way to progress?"<<
Yes, however the speed at which you progress, depends upon your age and current level of fitness. If it goes slow... let it go slow... you are not in a race with any other person... and I would suspect you plan on being around for a long time.
>>"How does the Nourishing Traditions and the Weston Price Foundation approach fit in with the PH diet?"<<
It is great for me. I am not sure everyone would benefit the same though. Ideal diet depends quite a bit upon your current environment, ancestry, and such...
One thing the Weston Price site does very well, and is beneficial information for everyone, is to explain fats and oils.
Whole food fats and oils, from the best sources are essential to health and well being. You hear today people saying we need more vitamin D, E, K and in some cases A.
Few people understand the actions and interactions of these fat soluble vitamins, one with the other and against each other, that they all traditionally came from whole, raw fats and oils in our diets... and that they all have involvement in hormonal activity.
As an aside, we are recommended to take about 1 gram DHA daily... the Inuit ate 14 - 15 grams a day. The important thing to keep in mind here though, is that one in a tropical environment would likely need much less than the Inuit. Environment is a large factor in diet - seasonal changes require dietary changes when one must face the environment without electricity\power and central heating\cooling... do not over look it.
The pseudo, nutrient void, fats and oils we have been sold on and have had in our society for well over 60 years has whacked out human hormones and is the big culprit behind bizarre obesity IMO... Such as huge people from the waist down or waist up, or legs and arms, or... fat heads and skinny bodies, etc.
>>"What PH level should I be aiming for?"<<
I am not the right person to ask... I have never gotten too crazy about taking my pH. I go with foods that feel good *after* I have eaten them... and avoid foods that make me feel bad after eating them.
Also keep in mind that a little bit of a certain food may make you feel good, while more of it makes you feel bad... so quantity must be considered too. This is a little harder to discern, especially if you like a particular food.
For me, I know to stay away from most grains and grain products... and then when eating them, use my own common sense and discretion to avoid overeating them.
Life is complicated enough these days... keep it simple. After a few weeks of taking your pH before and after meals, etc. you should begin to see what you need to do... and will most likely realize, that you intuitively knew this all along... by just paying attention to how you feel after a certain food or beverage.
