Re: I've built my own single 9V dc beck's blood cleaner

"can i blow a capacitor by holding the soldering iron on too long when i am soldering connections, because sometimes i hear a sharp crackling,"

I use 25W soldering iron so it goes very quick. Still the components sometimes get very hot, but I had no problem so far. I would recommend getting fine point tip for your soldering iron (walmart has 25W unit with 2 tips for $13), it easier to get between components that way. Also I would recommend getting solder removal suc*** or braided copper (I prefer the later) as it happened to me that I got too much solder and it crossed the contacts, that is when you want to remove the extra and start over.

Also wondered if resistors have polarity.

No they are not, mount which ever way you want.

"is that component diagram that you put on this last message the 1 with the correct diode arrangement. basically u are just saying to turn the diode around."

Yes, the new excel diagram has the diodes fixed, however the picture of the diagram (jpg) is still incorrect. They should be mounted this way
