"the supplement tango" & other thoughts (+edits) - Re: Sensitive to supplements??

It's always best to listen to our own 'doctor within'...if you sense/know that the supplements are causing you distress, also know there's GOOD reason for that.
All natural food is a 'trinity', made up of enzymes, vitamins & minerals. Whenever we ingest something that has one or two of those aspects of the trinity missing, it stresses the body in some way or another. Here's a FANASTIC article (a "must read" for everyone, methinks) that explains a LOT in regards to this, with Vitamin C as the topic:
http://www.thedoctorwithin.com/vitaminC/Ascorbic-Acid-Is-Not-Vitamin-C.php
This article (same author)on Enzymes is also VERY informative (and along the same lines):
http://www.thedoctorwithin.com/enzymes/Enzymes-The-Key-to-Longevity.shtml
(only problem with this article? At the very end he contradicts himself totally by recommending enzyme supplements - how silly is that? Nothing we get 'out of bottle' will match the enzymes needed for the exact dead food we ingest daily, so we're throwing something "off" again by taking isolated enzymes). Hippocrates said it best: "Let food by thy medicine and thy medicine by thy food"...then there's NEVER a chance for an imbalance (unless of course, we eat totally illogically).
Frustratingly, EVERY isolated vitamin, mineral, or enzyme (while it may "put a bandaid on a symptom or two") doesn't address the CAUSE of why our body is depleted or out of balance...and each always causes some type of rebound 'depletion or overage'...so many times using supplements creates an even worse imbalance than the one that previously presented.
In the last year or so on Curezone I've seen hundreds of people having hair/blood analysis to check "levels"...and I've never seen one person that came back 'normal'. So the tests show "imbalance" and the naturopath/alternative doctor prescribes supplements. But no one ever addresses WHY they have these imbalances. Taking a supplement to correct the way a test 'reads' does not address the CAUSE of the imbalance...and there's never-ever a a true cure without addressing the true cause. (But it sure sells a lot of supplements, eh?).
One thing that's not mentioned (in the article above regarding Vitamin C), is that Vitamin C supplements lower the blood copper levels and increase the iron levels (and also causes other variances).
We must always remember, there's NO disease or syndrome that's caused by "a lack of supplements". And most times using supplements to 'band aid symptoms' is really no different than using pharmaceuticals to 'band aid symptoms' (although the supplements *may* be less toxic, they virtually never create a true "cure"). Just like with pharmaceuticals, 'tis VERY rare, for people to start a supplement regime and end up with a 'cure'. Generally they just end up with a shelf full of supplements & a lighter wallet (and most times only see 'pockets' of improvement)...and whatever improvement they do see, generally disappears when they stop taking the supplements (or they start developing new symptoms)

The adrenals are no different than any other organ or system of the body...if we use isolated substances to "correct imbalances" in one organ or system, we typically end up throwing off the balance in other systems/organs - which ultimately adversely effects the organ we're trying to treat. Every system of the body is dependent upon every other system. For example, the adrenals rest directly atop the kidneys, and if the kidneys are being burdened by having to process & eliminate unnatural levels of supplements (literally "toxins" to the kidney & liver when we take the wrong kind or too much), the adrenals are burdened right along with them. It used to be that only allopathic doctors used that kind of illogical thinking to treat disease, but now the vast majority of "alternative" medicine & naturopaths have fallen prey to the same thinking and "scientific conditioning". :(
In the last 2-3 years, I've experienced adrenal distress twice (both times, very severe). Both times (I now know) were caused by using isolated substances to try to treat 'individual systems' (once the cause was
Iodine supplementation to detox, another time it was too much
Epsom Salts too long while doing a series of liver flushes). Both times I had the adrenal distress 80-85% knocked out within a month. I used
Dr. Schulze s IF#2 (a blend of natural fibers, herbs &
Bentonite clay/activated charcoal - to which I added extra clay & charcoal) to take burden off my liver & kidneys (which also cleansed my intestinal tract ensuring I was assimilating nutrition - and plowed my body with natural vitamins, minerals & enzymes (by juicing, juice fasting and taking triple doses of a very high quality superfood -which I make-). I already eat a totally organic 50-75% raw diet with very minimal meat & dairy. I also used whole, organic, ground Ashwagandha root daily (which is adaptogenic, and helps to BALANCE the body, especially the adrenals, rather than 'ramp them up' or 'slow them down'). When using herbs, it's also very important to avoid 'isolated & standardized extracts'.

Also, just in case (since you mentioned you stopped the trazodone last week --I assume without tapering??-- ), here's a Google search on 'Trazodone withdrawal':

You may be one of those that have 'zero issues', but you may find that if you've experienced any new symptoms since stopping the Trazodone, that it has something to do with that.
Also, one of the common side-effects of Trazodone is an increased heart rate (here's a Google search on 'Trazodone side effects'):

Many people don't realize they can take a drug (or supplement) and experience no/zero side-effects or reactions for a long time, and then our bodies say "whoa, enough is enough", and the side effects start showing up (so we rarely attribute the "new" reactions to a drug or supplement we've been taking awhile).
Our bodies are our own - and I hope whatever regime or protocol you choose works out well for you (I'm certainly not trying to criticize or judge your choices). I just like to take the time to add information that folks may not have considered (or didn't know about TO consider) - because to me, there's no such thing as too much information :)
Blessings,
Unyquity
P.S. One of THE most effective things for heart palps & arrhythmia? HAWTHORN BERRIES! You can get organic Hawthorn berries below...just soak them in distilled water, boil, simmer & strain, and drink several cups of tea daily (and then eat the softened berries!)...natural sweetener to taste.
