I left my husband with my 4 kids. I will spare you the horror stories I went through, as nearly everyone that applies to this forum has their story to tell, and I am no different.
We slept in the CAR for a while.
We also visited shelters and stayed for a while.
He tried to break in where I was staying when I finally got a place.
I needed Christian counseling for years. I lived with an idiot so long, I forgot what 'normal' was.
It was HARD HARD HARD
but
I have not broken anything in my house. Not even a cereal bowl.
We struggle, and my kids don't have a dad, but we have peace. And quiet.
I did not want my kids to grow up and being little 'Jr's' of his behaivour.
Little kids grow up to be big kids and adults. They will copy-cat someone. I did not want it to be HIM.
My kids can laugh. And not be scared. They have issues, yes, but those are nothing that compared to living with the devil.
Once I got the courage to leave, I kicked myself for waiting so long.
I ALSO FOUND OUT THINGS THAT WERE GOING ON IN MY HOUSE I HAD NO IDEA ABOUT!
So leave in 3 days. And get the crap out of there.
