I suppose what I meant to say, is that although diabetes is not per se a contraindication to fasting, such as advanced heart disease or liver cancer, it would need to be closely monitored by an experienced supervisor: as you have said, but Shelton is on record to say, that anyone who has been insulin-dependent for some time, would be classified as someone where fasting would not be at all suitable or recommended to do so; presumably for safety reasons. He didn't actually qualify what he meant by this.
