“All great and precious things are lonely.” ~ John Steinbeck, East of Eden

Day 5 of Pre-fast ( 1 days until water fast launch – January 20th.)

Loneliness reeks. Long weekends alone reek too. I have to stop thinking about how I could have spend it with D. I felt bad once I found out that D. was ill yesterday. He finally texted me to tell me that he got sick twice and wasn't feeling that great. At least that explained his silence mostly. I was wonder if he was irritated with J. for canceling at the last moment. I guess it was a good thing that he didn't spend that weekend with me. I also wondering if maybe that was one reason why he was procrastinating on Friday. Maybe he wasn't feeling up to par, and him going slower, and sleeping in, was a symptom of it. Never the less, at least he could rest up.

I ran to the grocery store, as I needed some chocolate ice cream. I know that I said that I wanted to give it up, but being on my monthly cycle, my body was screaming for something chocolatey, and salty. Since I was going to eat for one more day, I picked up somethings. I called my Stepmother and asked her what I should do about the ice cream problem. She felt that there was nothing wrong with getting a little pint of ice cream to deal with a craving that won't go away. It isn't like I can control my hormones and shut them off. So this is what I bought

Multi grain bread,
½ pound marble cheese,
½ pound of hard Salami,
½ pound of Turkey Pastrami,
a tomato,
a pint of non dairy chocolate ice cream,
a bag of mixed snacks (small pretzels, almonds, M&Ms and shortbread cookie pieces)
4 Sparkling Ices (Black cherry, Raspberry Lemonade, Peach Nectarine, Strawberry Lemonade).
CT Kombacha Chia seed drink

I probably shouldn't have gotten a half a pound, as it seemed like a lot just for one day, but I am not used to getting lunch meat from the deli. I don't eat a lot of lunch meat at all, but I thought it would be nice to treat myself a little since I have been eating so good. I really didn't like the Turkey Pastrami, so it was a waste, I ended up feeding bits of it to my cats. The Salami on the other hand, was an easy to add to my sandwiches. I really wanted a sandwich. I had a pint of ice cream. Well, not quite a pint, as it was horrible. It had ice crystals all though it, and it tasted more like mush then ice cream. It gave me a chocolatey taste, but the texture was horrible. I don't know if I just got a bad batch or that is how all non-dairy ice cream tastes and feels like. I was kind of disappointed as it wasn't as exciting as I thought it might be for me. It was good, but not as good as I thought it might be. I guess I will find a different way to get my chocolate fix when I need it in the future. I have enough time to figure out how to do that since I will be water fasting starting tomorrow.

I tried the Chia seed drink, as I was in the health food/vegetarian aisle at the store and saw it. I read a little bit of about kombucha and more about Chia seeds. I had been wanting to work Chia seeds in my diet, as I don't get enough fish to get the Omega acids that I need for healthy hair and skin. This is a away to have a daily dose of it once I buy some chia seeds. (They are not cheap). So I got it thinking that it was nice to try something new. I got a grape kombacha chia seed drink by CT. It said all kind of neat things like Synergy, etc. I tried it not knowing what to expect, but I really liked it. It was a bit expensive (3.99 a bottle) but it was really good. I might treat myself out once every two weeks with something like that. I would like to try other flavors. I will have to do some research on kombacha, as I don't know enough about it. All I do know is that people drink it. The bottle caught my eye, because at first I thought it was bubble tea, but then I realized it was chia seeds in it. I have to say that I can't wait to get my own chia seeds.

As you can see I haven't been doing anything most of the day. It has been a very lazy weekend. I wish it wasn't but unfortunately it has been. Here are my newest weekly goals. I hate see how much I haven't done over the month.

Here is the list.

WEEKLY GOAL FOR JANUARY 19th -JANUARY 25th, 2014

WORK ON BUDGET
WRITE IN JOURNAL 7 TIMES
FINISH A BOOK
CROCHET 5 TIMES
READ BIBLE 7 TIMES
SAVE $20.00 IN SAVINGS
PLAN GARDEN
*START WATER FAST
* SKETCH OUT STEAM PUNK OUTFIT IDEA

WORK ON BUDGET: I am on target with this and keeping my check book balanced. This is such a great feeling.

WRITE IN JOURNAL 7 TIMES: I was able to write 3 pages in my journal (Morning pages).

FINISH A BOOK: I haven't finished a book yet, but I will be really close by Wednesday hopefully.

CROCHET 5 TIMES: I haven't done this yet.

READ BIBLE 7 TIMES: I haven't even tried to start this yet. But I laid in bed and listened to a church service on my Alarm clock/radio. Before the service, the radio station played some really encouraging music as well. There was one song that kind of stuck in my heard. It was by Matthew West (which I have always loved in him the past) which was “Hello, my name is”. I almost pulled out my Bible, and started reading it. I said “Almost”, because I didn't. But I think I am getting somewhere, because I had more of an urge than I have had in months to want to open my Bible.

SAVE $20.00 IN SAVINGS: I have this goal budgeted so it should come out on Friday when I cash my check.

PLAN GARDEN: I have to get out all my older seeds from last year, and figure out what I might be planting this year. I need to find my gardening notebook as well. I can't wait!

START WATER FAST: I will start my water fast tomorrow. I am really looking forward to it, as I need to jump start my weight loss, as well as keep a strict healthy, portioned diet. This shouldn't be to hard. I am hopefully going to fast for at least 15 days.

SKETCH OUT STEAM PUNK OUTFIT IDEA: I have the idea down, now the next step, the sketch of it. Then looking around for the materials and putting it all together. Of course, I have until May 3, 2014 to have it completed, but I need to take into consideration that I will be doing other things like gardening, spending time with D., etc.

At least I am trying to move forward. I can't wait until it is more like Spring out, as I can be working on more fun goals like gardening, bike riding, hiking, etc. I guess that is something to look forward to.
