“The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.” ~Eleanor Roosevelt

Day 1 of Pre-fast (5 or 6 days until water fast launch – January 19th or January 20th.)

I have to say that I have been feeling a little bit better about myself. I don't know what it might be. Maybe is that I am trying very hard to move forward toward something in my life. Maybe it is because D. gives me hope (I know that always makes me feel good about myself). What ever it is, I feel that I have been improving a little at a time regarding certain things in my life. Some of my motivation is moving toward some goals and some areas and not so much in others. I really need to organize and clean up my life all the way around. Get rid of junk in my life that I don't need, both physically, mentally and emotionally.

I guess that is why blogging daily it helps me see how I am doing and what I AM doing. I am not always doing everything I want to do on my daily lists, but at least I am able to cross off somethings. Crossing off anything is an accomplishment. I guess that is one reason why “Feed cats” seems so mundane, since I DO do it daily, without prompting, but it is crossing it off, helps me see what I have accomplished. It is just like “Making my bed”. It is something I do every morning.

Oh well, enough of that.

D. texted me a little bit and it was grand! He is going to bring some movies over to J.'s house on Saturday when him and his brother come, and I am going to bring some microwave popcorn that I have, so we can have a movie night. I am kind of really excited about it. I remember that last night I got to snuggle up to D. and watch the Man of Steel with him later at night on Saturday, January 4th, before I left for home. I can't believe it has been almost 2 weeks since I saw him. I am so glad that I will be seeing him again. I wasn't planning on it but J. asked me if I was coming up on the 18th, so I said “Yeah.” I really like her, and it is fun hanging out with her.

DAILY GOALS

The Things that I accomplished already today are:

January 15, 2014

√ Fed my cats and loved on them
√ Made my bed
√ Write Morning pages (Journal 3 pages)
√ Read a Little
√ Keep my check book balanced
√ Take out trash

The Things I want to accomplish to night:

January 15, 2014

Knit a little
Read a little (more)
Read the Bible
Water plants
Pick out/organize garden seeds
Pick out clothing for the weekend
Wash clothes
Pick up clothes

I guess you can say that I am not doing very good at accomplishing my daily goals. It is almost like I like to see them sit there. I need to really get more motivated. Is it because I am asking too much of myself?

WEEKLY GOAL FOR JANUARY 12th -JANUARY 18th, 2014

WORK ON BUDGET: I am on target with this one. I didn't purchase anything yesterday, so no need to up date my Budget or my check book. I can't wait until Friday so I can work on this. I know it sounds funny, but I love to see where and how my money is applied to things. One thing I can't wait for is my car being paid off in April!!

WRITE IN JOURNAL 7 TIMES: I wrote my morning pages (3 pages) in my journal notebook. I am good to go!

FINISH A BOOK: I am not done with Prisoner of the Horned Helmet by James Silke and Frank Frazetta yet. I am a little bit disappointed that I have finished it yet. I guess my problem is that I have been working late at the office, and so by the time I get home, I am tired and end up falling asleep reading. I hope to finish it on Thursday night or no later than Friday.

CROCHET 5 TIMES: NOPE: I haven't worked on this yet. I need to figure out why I am not doing this. Am I not organized or something. I don't know. I just know that this really shouldn't be that big of a problem for me. I love to craft.

READ BIBLE 7 TIMES: NOPE: I haven't worked on this yet. Maybe I need to go about it a different way in order to start this.

SAVE $20.00 IN SAVINGS: I am on target for this. It is in my budget! I can't wait to have a total of $40.00 in my savings. Can you imagine what my savings is going to look like when I start paying $200.00 in my savings after my cat is paid off?!! It will start in May! It is going to be so awesome, as I am not going to miss it as I am so used to paying out $200.00 a month to pay my car off.

ROUGH OUT STEAMPUNK COSTUME IDEA: I have not looked into what I am going to get. I am thinking about going to the Salvation Army on Friday to see what skirts, vest and tops I might use for this, as well as watch parts, etc. I might want to purchase a top for Saturday to see D. in.

START WATER FAST: This has been put on hold until either January 19th or January 20th, depending on when I actually get home from seeing D.

I know one of my yearly goals was to exercise everyday a little bit. I have been working in a couple things every day in the morning (squats to start off with). I have started to do something small at night too. Today I did 35 Jumping Jacks and 20 Squats in the morning. When I was finished, I remember that I used to kept track of my pulse to see if I hit the aerobic beats per minute. I was able to hit 140 bpm after exercising, which is good for me, which means I am burning fat (even if it is just a little bit). I kept a little chart beside my calendar and my lists that I keep track of (which are the miles and steps that I walk every day, and my weight. I have been keeping track of my steps for over two years, and my weight everyday for over year. I guess you would think if I saw that I was gaining weight I would have done something to stop it but I didn't, unfortunately. Yet, you an see how I gained slowly over the months since September.) I used to kept track of any exercise I did every day, and what my pulse was resting and after my exercise. I probably will do that again, as I am starting to exercise again.

Here is the chart that I wrote down and use. I got it off the Internet at some time last year.

Light Exercise: 50% - 60% = 99 – 108 bpm (beats per minute)

Weight Loss: 60% - 70% = 126 bpm

Base Aerobic: 70% - 80% = 144 bpm

Conditioning: 80%- 90%: = 162 bpm

Athletic-elite: 90%-100%: = 181 bpm

15 seconds (# of beats per 15 seconds) x 4 = Pulse
220 – (age) = (Predicted Max heart rate)

As of right now my resting heart rate is 72 beats per minute

My predicated Max heart rate is 181 beats per minute.

So That morning, I didn't find out what my rest pulse but, I was able to calculate that I hit 140 bpm after I did 35 Jumping Jacks and 20 squats. At My rest pulse rate was 72 bpm, before I did my evening exercise. I did 45 Jumping Jacks and 20 squats (Oh boy, did I feel it too!), my heart rate was 144 bpm, which I am happy falls within base aerobic. I am hoping that I can start working in hula hooping in the morning (either actually or on my Wii) or a couple other things, as I used to exercise a half an hour before work. I know I am not up to even 15 minutes (maybe 10 minutes, but not 15). I would love to get back to doing Taebo in the evenings (I used to do it after work in 2011) as to keep my body toned and burning fat. I know that most of my problem is that I live a very sedentary lifestyle, as for my primary job, I still at a computer, so getting a lot of exercise during the day is minimum, unless I am filing stuff constantly or I am running errands, which I am not. I am trying to work in at least 1 or 2 minutes of every hour, getting up and doing something and move around. That would be really easy to do, since I don't think I am doing that, but uncertain. I will have to monitor how much active I am during the day when I am at work.

Yeah for me! I exercised twice during the day. It is one positive thing toward my goals!

I can't wait to get a good 15 day water fast under my belt to jump start the weight loss. I am currently wearing a size 10, but I have a size 12 pair of jeans that I am wearing when I am with D., as I like to have a little bit more room. I can't say that I am huge or obese. I am just chunky in my thighs, my hips and my upper arms (which I need to find exercises to target those areas). You can say that I have an hourglass figure, as I am just meaty in that areas that do not look that bad on me, just making me look a bit too plump for my height. I would love to slim down a bit. I noticed that the fat on my face has thinned out a bit, but I am really looking to lose a bit of fat that I can see on my back, my thighs, hips and especially belly area! I think I am so ready for this. I am hoping that if I can keep to a 15 or even a 21 water fast, then I can start to see the NEW me, and D. will be able to see that to. I guess that would mean that he wouldn't see me until February 1 or possible February 8th. Sigh. I can't get too ahead of myself. I will just shoot for a 15 day water fast, as in the past I was able to water fast to 13 to 15 days (as that is when the detoxification gets the strongest for me. I will just have to see.

Wow, now I am kind of excited for all of this to come together!!
