“We dream to give ourselves hope. To stop dreaming - well, that’s like saying you can never change your fate.” ~ Amy Tan, The Hundred Secret Senses
I wish at times I could stop dreaming. Maybe I could be much happier then I am. I just feel that the last year has been nothing but a disappointment. I know that is negative, but it is so hard to feel positive when my heart yearns for so much more in life. People are around me are getting married, engaged, and having babies. And what I am doing? Nothing, nothing at all. I wish I could be holding hands with D. or saying that I was getting married. Or even having a child. Sigh. How I wish I was holding a child, I should have had. But I am not. I am just reading books, doing some sort of crafts, working on my novel or reading some more.
I am really trying hard not to think about D. much as it will only hurt my heart more. Anyway I need to focus on other things.
Nothing major going on here. Nothing Earth shattering. So my yearly goals are simple. I tried to make them so that they might be more achievable. My motivation is almost nil, so I even wonder how far I will get with these.
Take a look.

They aren't much, but they are at least something. Of course, I want to do other things as well, but I think I will add them later on. The camping and gem hunting is something that I really want to do with the Cowboy but as things go, I might not do them with him. I will just have to see.
I am kind of proud that I haven't had any soda in over a year! It is a major goal, and it was much easier then I thought it would be. The first 3 weeks were hard, but after that, I don't miss it at all.
I know that I want to start fasting but I haven't figure out when my start day will be. I was kind of mulling over starting a water fast on January 12th, as to start off on the week with one. I have figured that I probably will only be able to fast for about 12 or 14 days, as I am really out of shape. I am working on starting to exercise in the morning before work. Something simple like squats, like I was doing this summer. At least it is a start. I want to start small, so that way I can get used to exercising as if it is part of my daily routine. All most like making my bed. I have an exercise peddler, that I bought last year, but haven't used. I guess I could start using it when I am sitting and reading. At least it is a start.
I found this out about the pedal exerciser on line:
“A person who weighs 155 pounds and pedals at a moderate pace for 30 minutes will burn about 260 calories, while a person of the same weight who maintains a vigorous pace for 30 minutes will burn about 391 calories.”
That is really promising. As well as I need to get the use out of my Wii. I haven't played with my Wii in a while. There is the promise of using the Kinect with my Xbox 360. I haven't felt like using my Xbox 360 since I have come back from my New Year's Eve/Day stay with the Cowboy, J. and N. It was fun, but it just reminds me what I don't have with the Cowboy. I was planing in buying myself a Kinect for my Birthday, but now I don't know how I feel about it at all. Not like I want to focus on another birthday that makes me feel more like a failure.
