Re: a deception

Matthew 4:3-4

3 And the tempter came and said to him, "If you are the Son of God, command these stones to become loaves of bread."
4 But he answered, "It is written, "'Man shall not live by bread alone, but by EVERY word that comes from the mouth of God.'"

EVERY is soooooo important. Man has tried in so many ways to decide what God WANTS, WILL do AND WHEN.

I do not agree with the second coming fear mongers, any more than I agree with the this or that verse (or collection) is the all encompassing message of God. All the words of God are important, none is more or less important, unless God Himself can be split up.

The Magisterium at the time Jesus was around had their idea of what scripture said and meant. They missed the Messiah because of this. They had their idea, not God's idea at heart and mind. They missed the point, and so do those that think the future events can be fit into a neat little package, or for that matter, not fit at all.
