Re: Valerie...PTree or other colon hydrotherapists...
Hi Kathryn,
One of the main things you want to do is make sure that you are REALLY well hydrated. This...and being relaxed during the colonic...are keys to having success. Start right away drinking at least half your body weight in
ounces of water a day. This is in addition to other liquids that you are consuming. I would avoid the fiber caps until after you've gotten things moving again. The extra fiber is just going to mean there is more to clear out during the colonic. Just eat a
healthy Diet of primarily vegetables and fruits, which will provide you with enough fiber. Also, avoid breads and pastas that tend to gunk you up.
Do you know what type of
colonic you're having? If I knew what type (open-system, closed-system, Woods) I could give you a better idea of what to expect.
As far as pain, there is sometimes some mild cramping prior to releasing during the colonic. There should NEVER be excessive pain, which usually indicates that the therapist is inserting too much water. It is important that you communicate with the therapist during the process and let them know if you are uncomfortable. Also, some people do not receive good results because they are not adequately hydrated prior to the
colonic or because they are very impacted and expecting a miracle from one colonic. Generally, if a person has had a problem with chronic constipation it will take a few
colonics to really start seeing results.
Feel free to ask any questions you have. I'm not getting email alerts, but will check back to see if you've responded.
