Re: Weston A. Price on Alkaline/Acid Balance

yes. i love that. love southwestern and cajun cuisine.

i decided a couple of weeks back to endulge in such a mixed meal. i did the whole thing, the kind of thing i did for 40+ years, and did it with gusto. seconds were never the question, it was whether there would be thirds or fourths. never missed a meal - breakfast, lunch and supper.

so i went for it - pot roast, cooked til falling apart, mashed potatoes, corn starch gravy, peas and carrots, crecent rolls, butter, honey, lots of salt and black pepper - i spared myself none of it. it took me three days to recover. i was belching acid twentyfour hours later. it was awful. so bad that it helped further develope my aversion to all meat. it was my only meal of the day. most people would think that meal was the picture of perfection. at least i didnt lose my mind and chase it all down with a big glass of cold milk. thats what i used to do. and then have cake and ice cream after. after a big breakfast. then that for lunch. then left overs for supper(microwaved, of course). my family did that every sunday. the roast cooked while we were in church.
