What I've heard (hearsay, believe at your own risk) is that at pH 7.45, the blood can carry 68% more oxygen than it can at pH 7.3.

Cool, if as you say, if true.

But also means that this narrow range the Doctors poo poo about is exceptionally critical for supplying O2.

You'd think they'd get a clue.
