lol - I hear ya! I like spiders just fine, when I can see them from afar, and choose to come nearer (or not). But when I accidentally walk into a spider web (especially at night) - wow that is freaky! I am wiping them away as fast as possible!

I got a spider bite on my arm once, took months to heal, and I still have a scar. I'm not really looking for another one...

That said, spiders are our friends and I try not to kill them. Overall, I like them. Especially my friend in the backyard. He is very pretty and adds some interest to my day. :-)
