Re: Life worth living?

I have to concur that the military life is NOT condusive to personal life or making friendships. It may be an escape from life for short-term (perhaps if there is an abusive situation going on), but it is not something I would reccommend for someone who is lonely.

If you join, your life is not your own (you must go wherever and do whatever the govt wants you to do) for the enlistment period and there is NO WAY OUT (you cannot quit!) without a dishonorable discharge which would ruin your chances of getting any resonable job for the rest of your life.

Thus, do not join the military on a whim or to "see the world"- because you may not like the parts of the world you will see.
