I would strongly suggest trying chiropractor again. Once every two weeks will do nithing for an acute case like yours. You could also try a chiro specializing in neurology. http://www.acnb.org/ Find out if one exists in your area.

I would say that in a situation like yours, you have had this problem for quite some time. If your disc is in fact bulging 5cm, the chances that your vertebral joint has been compromised for quite some time. A faulty joint for years will always precede a herniated disc.

If you in fact have nerve damage, it will take upwards of 4 weeks to 6 months+ at the least to allow those nerves to regenerate. If the problem lies in you spinal cord, you can count on longer...like a few years.
Give it time...allow your body to heal but give it a chance to.
