Re: I have H Pylori

Well I did it. Went to the doctor today and asked her to look through my medical record. It shows I had tested positive for H pylori in 1998. But, we never handled it or went back to see if the Antibiotics had eradicated it. I was not asked to come back for follow up or retest. Bums me out that that was not scheduled by the doc nor did I have enought information about what I needed to do about H Pylori. Ever since then I have been trying everything to fix the odor problem with my breath. As it turns out, over the years, the mouth odor has resulted in flatulence where my whole body smells. I actually had some honest person ask me if I had passed gas. I have been passing gas through my vagina. Now that gets gross and then I knew something was really wrong inside.

This was the kicker that got me looking again on the internet for some solution. Anyway, because I didn't take care of the H pylori, it seemed that it got worse. There are several different types of "programs" one can follow and just have to experiment until you find the meds that work for you. I was given the following today: Clarithromyc Tab 500 MG, Amoxicillin Cap 500 MG, and Nexium for the heartburn that I am going to get, plus Fluconazole for the yeast infection that will result from the Antibiotics . Anyway, this is a 15 day treatment. Doctor says that if this doesn't take care of it, there are other drugs on the list that can be tried. see http://www.helico.com for more about these meds. I'm keeping my fingers crossed and hope that these meds can eradicate this. I understand that the meds may need to be repeated yearly, depends if it truly removes it. I understand the doctor that found the cure for H pylori actually injected himself with the virus to find the cure for it and did. I'll keep you posted on my status. My true test will be to get close to people and notice the expressions on their faces :)
