I have done several 3-5 day fasts since my first one a year ago. I haven't made it past 5 since. I am setting a tentative goal of 21 but if I can go longer I will. My 9 day yielded great results. I lost 17lbs of which I kept 12 off. I really just feel so much more controlled in my food choices. Also I have noticed that if I try to start a fast before my period I can't stick to it but if I try right after it ends I have more control and my weightloss is twice as much as it would be if I started right before my period. Just my thoughts. My hormone let els totally even out on a fast too. Good luck!
