Okay, I'm only talking from personal experience when I say GIAB works much better than aquaphor.
Maybe aquaphor is helping you. I don't know but for the majority of ec sufferers I don't think it will cure them. it's your choice to apply any method you like. As far as I can remember there's only 2 - 3 people on this forum who claimed that aquaphor cured them. There's probably over a thousand ec sufferers on this forum and among them some others might have also cured their ec with aquaphor without positing about it but still, they're the minority.
We have to look at what's the most effective method here. Aquaphor has only been effective for managing the symptoms but not really for curing ec. GIAB has by far been the most effective product I've ever tried in the last 6 years.

Look man, I don't wanna argue here. If you prefer aquaphor, then that's your decision.
