This is a new information for me - the books and fasting as a mean for alignment. I had been conditioned to think that alignment is simply mechanical thing. Obviously, as you say, bringing the energetic back up and freely flowing will contribute to alignment.
So far I was just trying to bring back some alignment through the Schroth system for scoliosis, and I have to say it is a tedious and though path. Also I am trying to be mindful of my postures every single minute and that takes a lot of "processor resources" from my mind - to constantly monitor and correct whichever is correctable. I hope fasting will be easier than that :)
