Good morning Archus,
Thank you for the links, I will watch them thoroughly.
I am hoping it is alignment. Although the cramp was right where my back is always overworked due to scoliosis. I don't know if I should call it cramp or smth more sinister, since the muscle did not relax at all whatever I did - lying, stretching, bending, sleeping. It remitted shortly after taking potassium bicarbonate, about 1 g, then I started feeding.
My exercises need to be very gentle and from special starting position - with my back compensating the curve. Fitness equipment is pretty standard and unsuitable for people with particular needs.
I am not like most people, I am part of that 1% of the population that have weak connective tissue.
I have serious cartilage damage, I know for sure and it is impossible for me to do leg presses or similar training not only because of the knees but also because of my back misalignment. If I did 5-10 counts of leg press, I'll have to stay 3 weeks home to repair the further damage, if possible to repair it. The damage in certain joints - like in my neck are just a degree before total fusion. So when I hear cracking sounds during movement it is a signal for me to stop or change the movement if I have to continue working, or whatever I am doing. Just walking downstairs is already painful on some of the days, so leg press is impossible.
BTW, in my humble opinion, one needs to be careful with the leg press - respect having a good lumbar curve (lordosis) while performing them (best is to replace with half-squats in my opinion). There are trainers saying regular leg press will injure the lumbar discs, it is just a matter of time or how strong initially the discs were.
I am planning to fast soon, too :)
The Sun around here is still showing up in most days, so it is enticing to go out and get a good portion of solar rays. Although, I plan on moving only if I need to - like in doing my laundry and sitting, changing positions while reading. I will be taking a break in order to be able to heal maximally.
I am so tired of being young while not being able to do what most young people do - move freely, run, climb with no restriction and enjoy life without anticipating when the pain is going to be back. It is back on most of the days. Sighs.
I have eliminated most cooked, processed food and coffee and alcohol. I hope after the fast to stay 100% clean from these until I get the feeling that I am totally pain free. Then I may have Dal or my mom's soups once in a while, providing she doesn't put wheat powder for thickness. My family has some good habits, but also some awful once.
