Re: Fasting buddy: day 1 of 40 day water fast
Juices are so so good! You can juice basically any fruit or veggie aside from bananas, and avocados, which have a low water content.
This is a great site for juice and smoothie recipes:

Juices are distinct from smoothies, as
juicing removes all the fiber from the fruits and veggies; whereas, a smoothie blends the whole fruit and veggie with fiber intact. A purely fruit juice will shoot you with a blast of energy, spike in blood sugar, and then a crash, because there is no fiber to slow down the absorption of the sugar. In my opinion, green juices are best with some fruits added for a sweeter flavor. There is the exception of using a special citrus juicer that leaves most of the fiber intact when
juicing oranges. I plan to buy one of these myself, because I absolutely love orange juice, and it's a very easy, cheap fruit to come by. On the other hand, a purely fruit smoothie will leave you cruising with a steady supply of energy for longer, because the fiber will slow down the absorption of the sugar. Regardless, adding some greens to a smoothie is always a good idea, and you will get used to the taste! I always like adding spinach :)
A great way to spice up any juice or smoothie and get in your greens is to add barley grass juice powder, healthforce vitamineral green, or healthforce greener grasses. I've had great success with these powders in terms of getting lots of minerals that are not often found in commercial produce these days due to soil depletion.
