Re: Fasting buddy: day 1 of 40 day water fast
Archus,
Thanks so much for your reply!
I am vegan. Prior to starting the coconut water fast, I was eating all raw whole foods, predominantly monomeals of fruit. It really helped with the coconut water fast, which I found to be incredibly easy.
Yesterday I simply drank one liter of coconut water in addition to as much water as I felt I needed. This was a change from previous days, as I went from 3 liters of coconut water to 2 liters, down to one on my final day. Last night, I got up to use the bathroom, as I am doing rather frequently these days, and the change in position was too much for my blood pressure. I basically blacked out for a second and fell to the ground. Fortunately, I didn't hurt myself, but I was seeing mostly blackness with some bright colors for the next minute, much like what happens during very pleasant meditative experiences. Is this normal? Should I be concerned?
I have been very careful when I stand up from sitting or laying down since that time. The near fainting was worst in the night and morning, and was accompanied by waves of nausea. Both seemed to get better throughout the day. However, the rest of the day, I felt unusually weak and low energy. I suppose this drop in energy is typical from completely eliminating the small amount of
Sugar I was consuming in the coco water.
One more question, if I may: I'm in Hawaii, and have been drinking filtered rain catchment water. Is this suitable for a water-fast? I understand it's a bit acidic. Are there any ways to lessen the acidity?
Thanks so much for your support. Means a lot to me!
Blessings,
Taylor
