Re: Just diagnosed with Hashimoto. Now what?
In my experience, discussions are better served when all parties can keep their emotions in check. There is no need to get so vehement and emotional. I am not here to take your
Iodine away.
Actually, if you read Lexi's posts again they state that they feel cold often. This is one symptom of hypothyroidism.
I do not trust anyone so vehement in their opinions on a subject that they are unwilling to change their mind based on new evidence.
This is exactly what religions do, and why I despise them. If everyone acted this way, we would still be living in caves.
Again. You have failed to address my point about Dr. Abraham's hypothesis.
He claims that
Iodine in amounts over 15mg will protect the thyroid from autoimmune attack because of an increase in iodinated lipids that downregulate the TPO enzyme, thus lowering
H2O2 (Hydrogen-Peroxid) levels and consequently oxidative damage.
If what Lexi says is true, this clearly did not occur with an intake of 100mg of
Iodine because the antibodies have increased during that time.
This calls Dr. Abraham's hypothesis in to question.
