Re: Clarification as to what bible idolatry is and is not.

Rainy, I do think it is Satan's plan if he can just get people to quit reading their bibles, then it will be so much easier to deceive them. The people in the Dark Ages that were under the Roman Catholics were so deceived and it was because they did not have their own bibles to check what was being taught to them as to whether it was truth or not.

With these kinds of teachings about bible worshipping, etc. what is to stop this from all happening again, and it's already happening as we are debating all this. This is why it's so scary when we see people like Kenneth Copeland and his group meeting up with the Pope. Is there not an underlying plan to bring all these people under control of a one world religion again? It seems like it could be so and I want to warn people to beware of what is happening.
We are living in very deceptive times.
So more than ever, it's important to test what we hear by scripture. And of course we can only understand the scriptures as the Holy Spirit reveals them to us. We can't understand them on our own.
Your point about those with hardened hearts being the ones that can read the scriptures without a relationship with God is right on. It is very true that there are those people out there. I have known some. We have had some very biblical knowledgeable people on these forums that deny Christ as Lord. But it wasn't reading the scriptures that made them dead to a relationship with Christ but that they just never had one to begin with. Of course you know all this. I'm glad we agree on this! :)
