I just want to add, Ed, that you consider some great ministers like Charles Spurgeon. I have not read or listened to everything that man preached, but I think it is very obvious that the Holy Spirit was moving greatly in that man's life and ministry. From what I hear this man did not believe in the gifts of the Spirit for today. Now, I don't know if he was on a mission, like John MacArthur seems to be, to preach against them. I doubt it because he seemed to be preaching under a great anointing of the Holy Spirit. So, Ed, we have to realize that the Holy Spirit does move in other ways than just the gifts. The gifts can be used to help a lot of people, but the other ways that the Holy Spirit moves may be just as great or greater. In fact, I think they are greater. We know from the Bible that some people operating in the gifts will be in hell because Jesus will tell them that He never knew them. We need to make sure that our heads are screwed on straight and that we have our priorities correct.
