Re: Blind religion vs. obvious Truth. (edit)

You said, "Show me one that is obsessing over the spiritual gifts that is a true church."

I'm sure I grew up in one, but they are really hard to find today. Actually I would not say that the church I grew up in was obsessing over spiritual gifts, but they did believe in them and some of the gifts were manifested. People were not pressured to speak in tongues, nor was the false prosperity gospel preached. In fact, I never even remember them preaching a sermon on tithing back then.

If I knew of a true church today in my area I would be going to church so I can't help you out there. Maybe all the true Christians have left or God is still calling them out. I've even heard of Pastors who have left because of the mess. Some of them just couldn't take it. They found other jobs and are ministering part time out of church buildings.

Yes, I'm sure the girl is enjoying her relationship with Christ better now as it sounds like she was in a bad situation in church, however, she is confused about the gifts. It sounds to me like she thinks it is all of the devil. That is what I meant. I know you would not agree with me on that so I will just agree to disagree. I'm sure you believe everything she said. That's ok, but I don't.
