Re: About to perform first liver flush. My story and reaching out for much needed advice/insights
Hi Brittnigirl, thanks for the long and detailed response. I really do hope that i may be closer to finding the answer. I figured I had a candida problem and going on the candida diet and taking antifungals has helped somewhat. I still have a lot of issues though, which is what led me to search some more and come to liver flushes.
I definitely see more and more how everything is related like you said. I never knew Candida and heavy metals were related so that's very nice to know. There does seem like there are a lot of other factors which I want to address. Right now though, I want to see how the
Liver Flush goes because I feel doing other things will be useless or not as effective if my liver can't process everything normally.
I also never knew about the estrogen connection and how many herbs are estrogenic. So if there is an abundance of estrogen in my system, how do I eliminate it or what do I do to normalize the levels?
I was reading that
coffee enemas are really effective but I'm kind of apprehensive since drinking coffee gives me the jitters. It does seem like it is very helpful though...
In regards to getting a colonic, I was reading that you should get one before to clear out the gut and to get one after to clear out any remaining stones which might get reabsorbed and cause symptoms. Since it would be my first time getting a
colonic as well and I only want to get one, I'm not sure what to do. I originally planned to do the flush this Sunday and scheduled a
colonic appointment for Monday (the day after the flush). I was going to take colosan for a couple of days before the flush as it seems to help me go. Now I'm not sure if i should do the
colonic the day after the flush or just do the colonic the day before the flush and move the
Liver Flush date to tuesday.
Prior to the past half year or so, I was eating everything I shouldn't and nothing I should. The first thing i did was go gluten free. Afterwards I went completely organic. I don't get organic meats, but I make sure i get meat that hasn't been treated with hormones or
Antibiotics . Whatever fish I get (usually salmon or cod) is wild caught.
I've completely cut out sugar, anything artificial, anything refined, coffee, chocolate, dairy, etc. It would probably be easier to list what I do eat. Organic vegetables, hormone and
Antibiotic free meat, wild caught fish, organic whole grains, eggs, and organic nuts. I did eat legumes but barely do because I have a hard time digesting them. I season my food with salt, herbs, and sometimes liquid aminos. I also use ACV and EVOO. I started reintoducing organic potatoes and organic corn into my diet recently as well. My indulgences are hummus, organic corn chips, or organic potato chips.
I also take a scoop of greens supplement with a tablespoon of flax oil with water everyday. I did stop taking the greens for the past few days and feel a little better. I think maybe because the one I'm taking is loaded with all kinds of herbs.
Here's a link to the greens I am/was currently taking:

Other than that, I don't think i have anything else in my diet right now. The grains were added recently back into my diet along with fruits because I was off of them for the Candida diet. I cook everything myself any do not eat anything from outside. Occasionally a salad with no dressing or gluten containing items.
Thanks once again for such an in depth response!
