Re: About to perform first liver flush. My story and reaching out for much needed advice/insights
I'm pretty much better, but a slight nagging something in between my shoulder blades tells me I'm not done cleaning out my liver/gallbladder. Otherwise I pretty much feel fabulous. (In retrospect I think sludge and stones in my liver and gallbladder were my problem--I had NO IDEA about this, despite repeated doctor visits, physio etc. Thank goodness I finally found cure zone).
I started trying to cleanse last fall, around Sept/Oct when I realised I was feeling foggy, tired all the time, and just not myself. I tried herbs for parasites,
Liver Cleansing teas, apple cider vinegar, healing clay, anti yeast, probiotics, colonics, even a mini zapper. The flush is really what has helped me most. It's scary to see all that stuff coming out! I'm not sure the other things I tried helped at all but I still use most of them occasionally, just to keep things flowing smoothly, kind of how I put vinegar and baking soda down my shower drain to keep it open ;-)
For the doshas, there's a site called whatsyourdoshababy.com to help you figure out what dosha you naturally are (I am naturally Vata but was feeling totally Kapha and knew that was a problem. Now I'm a Vata again). Deepak Chopra has a similar quiz and lots of information on his site that is helpful, though of course he is dying to sell you stuff. I think it's great to get the information from these sites then source any herbs or foods you want independently, as Ayurvedic medicines can have weird ingredients like metals that I didn't want to experiment with (and which you have probably experimented with enough for one lifetime, LOL) but the basic principles are ancient and very interesting. There are a lot of books on it if you want more in depth info but the one I bought made my eyes glaze over as I was back to my healthy Vata self by then.
Be sure to follow the flush very carefully, it's simple but only seems to work when you really do all the steps. Putting the
Epsom Salt in vegetable capsules makes the experience much less revolting for me. And malic acid capsules were much easier for me to cope with than apple juice. I also tried
colonics and decided I don't need them (even though
Andreas Moritz insists on them) so that saves me some $$, so I guess I am a rule breaker despite my advice.
I hope you see good results, even if they take a while!
