I went to the ER. The Ortho MD on call that called me back scared the sheet out of me. He said this is serious and that I could lose my leg if the infection spread and they had to cut my leg off! I have an infection because I didn't use triple Antibiotic cream on it, and I probably didn't remember to wash my hands before I touched it and picked at it, and then I wrapped it in non sterile new clean paper towel and my foot sweats inside the boot, which I have to even wear to bed. When I got up, I can tell my foot is sweaty. It looked a tad red yesterday but today it was draining more fluid and it didn't smell good, and the red area is about 4" around it and the wound is about 1.5". He numbed the area and cleaned it out with a sterile knife and applied Iodosorb, an Iodine ointment that's supposed to draw bacteria out of an infected wound. He wants me to re apply it daily. They took cultures of the wound to send in and he wants me to see Ortho MD Tuesday.

It's cleaned out now, I believe, and will stay cleaned out. If that area recovers, I do think the garlic and cayenne will protect me from it consuming me. I sure hope so. I'm still scared and worried. Overall I'd say my immune system is quite good.

He gave me an Rx for oral Antibiotics (Doxycycline Hyclate 100 mg capsules) and I filled it, but I'm afraid of that stuff. I have a lot of garlic but I don't think I have any Ech tincture right now. Can I pass on the Anti Bs? I never really noticed any improvement with Ech Tincture. Will Garlic protect me from infection? I just ate a BIG clove of garlic with 1/4 tsp cayenne and water, with Acerola Cherry powder. Am going to drink juice with Superfood in a few minutes.

That Ortho MD hung up on me, he said I was "arguing with him". I asked him if I could take garlic and cayenne instead of oral Anti Bs.

Thanks for the help! It was scary at the ER, and I felt sad about being away from my cats, and wondered if I'd lose a leg or something.

I have a feeling that ortho MD on call thinks I'm a typical Average American with a weakened immune system. He scared me enough to go to the ER.
