Re: Paxil and Klonopin
Hey Puppet,
Well it sounds like you have some strong opinions. I know people who do very well on low doses of SSRIs. or SNRIs. Heck, check the forums for some comments from returners who are now healthy.
St John's Wort works for me, mostly. But it's not perfect. For me to feel great, and not just ok, I need to be vigilant as hell on my diet, food and stress. That's hard when you're still feeling tired.
AF sufferers tend to be people who had anxiety and just kept pushing through it, until we totally burnt out. So yeah, we gotta get over that burnout phase and then just let the meds (of whatever type) do their thing while you're making lifestyle and thought pattern changes.
SSRIs do work for many, although it's a trial to figure the one that does work properly. Paxil tho, Paxil may not be the one. Everyone I know who took it regretted it as it works, but it's very hard to come off. Ecitalopram (not citalopram) works for a lot of folks. There are others. For me, the side effects weren't worth it, but it did work. If I had balanced that with a really good naturopathic approach I'd be sailing I think.
As for a benzo, I found having that around was a great life jacket. You know it is there, so in case you need it occasionally you can take it. Which means you never need to take it, interestingly enough.
L-theanine is "natural" version of benzos. Half the power, lot less addictive.
Whatever you choose, I'm looking forward to hearing that you're doing better soon. Cheers!
