great... use herbs and spices in you food prep. Pepper greatly enhances the availability of most any nutrient.

Healthy fats need to be eaten with mineral rich greens in order to greatly increase the nutrient availability in the greens as well, not only the minerals, but also plant based K, and A.

Not to mention that the healthy fats can give you fat soluble vitamins such as E.

All I do know, at least for me, is that if I eat free range pastured meats and fats, along with free range pastured, RAW dairy products, I have no issues at all with mucous. Mucous IMO, is an issue caused by the livestock commercial practices.... such as feeding the animals, which were meant to eat grass, grains, pumping them full of drugs, GMO's and all the chemical poisons they spray on them.

My mom and brother cannot eat commercially raised chickens without gagging - and I mean physically choking... however, they can eat free range chickens with no issues... the only difference is in what is force fed to, and the drugs and Antibiotics given to, the production chickens.

So it has to be the farming practices that cause these issues.

Great choice, just check where they come from... the colder, and cleaner, the water, the better.

Wild caught Alaskan salmon and halibut should be good on occasion as well.

That should cover you pretty well IMO. If you have any trouble or feel a bit run down, try getting some liver from a free range animal... and see how that feels. Once a week or two may be a good thing.

You are speaking of *obligatory omnivores* and it is not that the people cannot *absorb* the nutrients, it is that they cannot make the conversion of the *plant* based nutrient into the form *required* for mammals like us.

A short stint of vegetarianism will not harm you, IF, you know your body's needs for proteins and fats and address them. Or, as you stated, you can add fatty fish to your diet... that is an excellent idea IMO.

I do fantastic on fish... and have grown to love it. I just wish our oceans were cleaner than they are.

Stay far away from farmed fish...

Another thought would be to make bone broths... and use them for vegetable soups and such. Very nutrient dense and rich. Throw some seaweed in them, like dulse and\or kelp and pump up on some more Iodine (than what is in the fish) as well... we all need it.

Actually learn to use herbs and spices in your meals... they are great sources of micro-nutrients.

You seem to have a good head on your shoulders. Trust yourself... make adjustments as necessary when you have to. Do not make your diet your religion as some people seem to do, and you will do great.
