your thoughts on water fasting for "maintenance", considering the environmental load these days...

hello Chris, and everyone,

esp. those who have experienced the resolving of named diseases and conditions of some concern,

What are your thoughts on water fasting, once a certain level of health has been achieved?

Chris, I think I can guess that you side with the Hygienists who advocate LESS water fasting, rather than more; meaning, the masters ( as I call them) would suggest Water Fasting the least amount of time required to achieve the most.
Even though they knew the genuine *value* of a water fast, they were not 'smitten ' by it, to the point some of us are, at first. (I was! My first fast) It really is a mind-expanding experience, and I think we get very taken with the 'high' of realizing that much of what we were taught is false--and that we can take our life into our own hands, and be to some degree, our own physicians. It's humbling, and inspiring--and one almost can get a little Evangelical. :-)

And the changes can be "miraculous", ESPECIALLY if the *Natural Hygiene lifestyle takes hold. (This should be in bold letters) *If not, then all bets are off--and the Water Fast becomes little more than a radical 'time out'.

It strikes me that there is a culture these days, esp. in North America, perhaps (?), or shall we say, where we have the luxury so many in this world don't enjoy--that of leisure or the means to distract, entertain and even drive ourselves nuts with OCD-type behaviours...

I wonder if the next, longer (20-plus days) Water Fast will always hold some allure as long as the body still is dealing with some sub-clinical conditions that are likely exacerbated after the water fast...just owing to the environmental burdens.

I still have a feeling I have one more longer fast in me--
and now that I've read about your three longish fasts it just confirms my sense; three is a powerful 'cycle' too,
(can't think of the right word) like those of seven days, and multiples thereof.

But now that you have done those three, what do you see as the optimal length, in a year? And at what frequency?

Anyone else too--I invite your thoughts; interesting subject, no?

I'm musing here, after one more longish one, ( in which I would hope to see any remaining deep work dealt with, then 1 at every season's change, but shorter. Just a week.

best, Chiron
