As to the docs, screw them! I was being quite serious when I told you that the reason american docs think that Aspergillus spp. is so frickin bad is because they never bother finding it unless the patient is a corpse on an autopsy table, and because the meds they prescribe when misidentifying it as something else are either useless (diflucan) or massively counterproductive ( Antibiotics ).
It's like swine flu - that was in fact harmless (10x LESS mortality than normal flu), but the only people ever to get diagnosed with it were the ones who were bad enough to get hospitalized... So everyone was like AAAAAHH PANIC NOW. While, meanwhile, like half the people couchsurfing with a "common cold" actually had the exact same thing, missed 3 days of work, and were back on their feet in no time. Idiots!
