Re: strongly disagree with plant based diets

Hi Chris,

"From my studies of the New Testament in years gone by it is written that Christ did eat fish along with bread (mind you, not a good combination....protein with starch)...........just kidding!!!"

Ha ha, I would expect nothing less from the king of food combining LOL, wish I knew as much as you do about it but I'll learn eventually.

"I recollect that he did eat red meat as well if my memory serves me correctly as in kosher meat. Correct me someone if I am wrong on this.

I'm not familiar with lamb but in Exodus 12 it talks about every man "shall" have the Passover meal. The meal was to consist of lamb, unleavened bread, and bitter herbs.  It also talks about it in the New Testament in Luke 22:7-8 Christ sent Peter and John to kill the lamb "Go and prepare the Passover for us, that we may eat."  By Christ saying "we may eat" I take that to mean He was going to eat the lamb. Of course I don't know if lamb is red meat.  But once He died the Old Testament law was no longer necessary.

I'm no bible scholar so I don't know if it talks about it anywhere else but I do know for me I believe I can eat anything I want to eat because I live free from any bondage.  That being said, I agree with you about staying on a  predominantly plant based diet with an occasional grass fed steak if I want one.  I don't like fish of any kind except deep fried battered shrimp so I won't be eating any of them due to the frying in oil.  I'm very satisfied and content to be eating fruits, nuts, and vegetables, I never thought I'd be able to accomplish this so I'm a happy camper and owe it all to my 21 day fast that enabled me to reset my tastes buds.

Yes I agree Steve has done some incredible research into many subjects that have benefited all of us greatly.  I can't imagine the hours he's spent finding everything he is reporting on.  My deepest thanks go to him for this as I don't have the time to dig for all I need to learn and its so easy to read his posts and learn from them.  The same can be said for you Chris.  I've gained much knowledge from reading your posts also.  So I thank you both.

I guess the bottom line in all of this meat vs. no meat subject is that we all have to do what we feel is right for each of us like we do with anything else in life.  I've found a formula that is working for me so I say "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" ha ha, an old saying from the South where I live.  I was raised not to use that word but it sounds better than isn't in that sentence LOL.
