OFF TOPIC WARNING, don't want to turn this thread into a theological debate, but I am compelled to reply to the previous post:

If you look at the context of the chapter you quoted you will see the following:

Rom 14:1 Him that is weak in the faith receive ye, [but] not to doubtful disputations.
Rom 14:2 For one believeth that he may eat all things: another, who is weak, eateth herbs.

the Bible discusses some whom don't eat meat because they were once idolaters, and felt uncomfortable to eating meat offered to idols. The more mature Christians were instructed to be sensitive to these younger Christians. That makes sense.

I'm not sure where you're coming from religiously.

I believe that Christ was God incarnate. I believe that God wrote the Bible through several men (divinely inspired). I believe that God gave mankind the Judaic Law (now fulfilled in Christ). [mouseclick: you mentioned that something is lost in the translation. That's quite true in all (per)versions of the Bible except for one, the KJV. God promised to preserve his word and to refine it like silver in the fire.]

That being said, God commanded the Israelites to eat the Passover dinner. If you understand this ritual, it does in fact require the slaughter of an animal (cute little lamb), splashing its blood on the doorposts and putting a pool of it's blood at the base of the door, and then hurriedly eating the meat.

And since Christ is God, Christ was responsible for this practice. If anyone, believer or non-believer, takes issue with such a ritual, they must lay the blame on Christ. After all, the passover lamb represented Christ Himself.

Those who were politically-correct and didn't kill the lamb, found that their first born was dead the next morning.

This is only one example. Read the Levitical law. Billions of innocent animals were killed and their blood spilled over the alter for centuries. All of this was simply a picture of the Christ that was to come.

Christ fed the multitude with fish. That means that he OK'd the killing of the fish and he had to tear or cut the fish in pieces to feed the multitude.

I think we believe in two different Christs. The One I believe in can be seen in the Holy Scriptures.

It sounds like you consider yourself a Christian, but you speak very flippantly about Christ; I would say blasphemously even. Christ didn't have a wife and children. The Bible makes it quite clear that God prefers a man to have ONE wife and that Christ's bride is the church, and their marriage is yet to come.

The "true gospel way" to which you refer does not mean one is impoverished. The apostle Paul said he knew how to abound or be abased (rich or poor). The early church sold possessions to support the church, but it doesn't say they sold all that they had and lived in the street. It says that they sold extra stuff that they had. Additional houses, properties, etc were sold for the cause.

The only "true gospel way" is to worship God in SPIRIT (one is born again), TRUTH (one is not confused about the God they are worshiping or how to worship Him), and the BEAUTY OF HOLINESS (God is Holy and demands that those who worship Him are they themselves Holy).
