Re: Why even quote ANY scripture?

[[[Scripture is valuable...it is holy...but the Word of God is what we follow. If scripture proves a valuable tool for you to discern whether or not you are being instructed by the Word then be blessed. I suspect that the Word of God would prefer you know him more intimately...but that is between you and God.]]]

How can you not see the apparent contradiction in what you are saying? From where do you learn HOW to know Him more intimately?

We do not worship the Bible per se, but His Spirit within it. Which clearly tells us that Scripture is His instruction to us, amongst other things(e.g. Prophecy, History). If any "feeling" or presumed "message" from God contradicts Scripture, then we may know it is not of God. God is not just a "feeling." There are many things other than His Spirit that can also cause "feelings." One cannot serve two masters! Do you not agree with this part?

-Matthew 6:24 (New King James Version)
24 “No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.

-Luke 16:13 (New King James Version)
13 “No servant can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.”

Be Blessed. May God open your eyes.
