Re: Let's Talk About Grace
Saywhatagain,
The answer to your question, "what does it mean to be saved by grace?"
God's
Redemption
At
Christ's
Expense
"If you just say the words, "God, please forgive me for my sins in the name of Jesus Christ are you then saved?"
The answer to that question would be no. To be saved or born again and live under grace you must first truly believe in your heart that Jesus went to the cross and died for your sins and believe in your heart He was raised from the dead and now sits at the right hand of God in Heaven. That is the only requirement we have to meet before we can partake of God's grace.
There is the worlds way of doing things and there is God's way of doing things. God's way of doing things is submitting everything in your life to God. I mean don't make a move unless you have turned everything over to Him. God did not want us to suffer, that is why He sent His son Jesus to the cross to die for us, so that we could live above the worlds way of doing things, but in order to do that we have to turn our lives completely over to Him.
It is a shame that most Christians don't realize the Kingdom Of God is within us and in order to live in it we have to know how to operate in the way of God. We have to leave the world system behind and live God's way.
I agree with you about things getting in the way, it means some Christians are still living in the world system instead of living in the Kingdom Of God System, therefore the full advantage of grace doesn't apply. When we straddle the line between the two we really don't have the full power of God He wants us to live under. Some Christians only think of God maybe twice a week Wednesday's and Sunday's and the rest of the week they are doing things the way the world does things.
It's not that God doesn't want us to have material things, He does, it's that some put those things before God. God doesn't want us to have nothing, we are supposed to be living under His full blessing that He gave to Abraham. He wants us to be blessed so that we can bless others, if we have nothing we can do nothing to help others. Many people, Christians included think the scripture says "money is the root of all evil" when in fact it says "the love of money is the root of all evil" there is a big difference in the two. If we put wealth above God then no we aren't living under grace, it doesn't mean we don't have that grace it means we aren't partaking of it by our own choices and actions. If we use the wealth we have to further the Kingdom for His glory, we receive the full benefits that grace provides, it will be given back to us 30, 60, 100 fold and we use it to bring more people to Him. I believe God wants all His children to live a happy, successful, caring, sharing life and we don't have to be poor and without material things, He wants us to put Him first in our lives and live for Him.
God is love and we should live in that love and show everyone around us we are His child through the love we give to others in His name. We should walk around shining His love and it should be apparent to others we come into contact with.
This is what being a Christian is to me.
Have a blessed day.
