Iodine and Constipation, gut flora

I have always been prone to constipation despite a diet that's 90% vegetables and fruits. I still have to take Barefoot's LBB and mix it up with other herbs sometimes or aloe to keep things moving. I drink plenty of water, and it seems worse since the addition of Lugol's, though I can't say for sure it didn't start before then. I go back and forth, but for awhile things were pretty good.

I know I still have a candida problem and likely accompanying pathogenic bacteria or parasites. I've been battling this for probably 20 years.

Does Iodine kill good gut flora? Any suggestions on dealing with the constipation? I've been taking some Sea Salt in water along with this protocol, could that be sucking too much water out of my colon? I got out the psyllium mix again yesterday, hoping that might help. I have pretty much cut grains out of my diet, and wondered whether removing that particular source of fiber is actually part of the problem.
