If something like this would make you abandon helping people then maybe you should quit the position of moderator and go back to just being a normal forum member. You seemed to have been sucked into the debate and drama and have taken sides which isn't really the quality of a moderator anyway.

You don't need to be a moderator to help people. You were doing better before you got your knickers in a twist because a few people didn't respect your authority.

The very fact that you are fueling this debate instead of remaining neutral says a lot. You are gathering troops for a battle that no one can possibly win.
