I think the crux of this religious thing, or at the core, is the idea that there is someone/something else controlling things for us.
Those, that that idea is unsettling for are those that have some inkling that we are the only person/thing responsible for what we bring about in our lives.

So the idea that "God" did it or is doing it comes about as a little out of reality for some or many, myself included. Tweet
