Fasting for weight-loss may be the initial attraction for many new members who desire it, but I think the main point of this forum is
Water Fasting for health reasons other than just obesity.
Once a new member has introduced themselves in this way, I think it is our role to expand on this by offering other and more beneficial reasons for undertaking a
Water Fast and, more importantly, to introduce future & permanent lifestyle changes which would have far more benefit in terms of longevity and overall health.
I remember the quandary that Harvey & Marilyn Diamond had when trying to introduce Natural Hygiene as a way of life and how this would radically improve anyones health, but they thought that this would be "just another health book" and would have a limited impact on the general public.
Their solution was to write a book on weight-loss based on Natural Hygiene principles, and where this proved to be an all time bestseller because of its effectiveness in losing weight: as a result of this, their health book-sequel telling the story and principles of Natural Hygiene also proved to be the best selling book on health of all time.
Many people would consider fasting for weight-loss, and that I think is where many of the initial posts are for this reason, and where it is down to established members to follow this up and "educate instead of medicate" for their very distinct benefit.
