Re: fasting & energy
Hi bling,
I think if we believe everything we read and hear about food, we wouldn't eat anything at all: a sort of permanent water-fast for fear of disease and self-poisoning no less!!!
If you really think that the thought of just eating raw vegetables is boring, then you really haven't eaten raw.
The most exciting meals I have ever had were after my prolonged post-fasting days: food never tasted so good and delicious as it did at that time, and still does today.
Here is just ONE of my varied and typical daily menus..............
Breakfast (if hungry)
#1. Fully ripened Galia Melons in season till satisfied.
Luncheon: Starch meal.(again if hungry)
#2.A raw salad comprising: a full plate-base covering of 3 to 4 lettuce varieties which could include Cos or Romaine, butterhead, Crisphead or Iceberg; spinach leaves, cress, grated carrot, grated spring cabbage, spring onion, sliced cucumber, cooked beetroot, fresh mushrooms, watercress, red/yellow/green peppers, which all combine well with the 2 slices of lightly toasted Wholewheat Bread, lightly buttered (yes, real butter) with a smattering of Vecon.
Dinner: Protein meal(again if hungry)
#3. As above for lunch, excluding the carrots and beetroot as these do not combine well with a protein meal, plus one & a half, whole room-ripened avocados, and several organic tomatoes of differing varieties and sizes, including a beef tomato (so-called because of its size).
This is just one days menu, there are stacks more to choose from in Harvey & Marilyn Diamonds book "Living Health" the sequel to their bestseller on weightloss in "Fit For Life".
I would describe myself as a Herbivore, and am not a fan of being an exclusive Fruitarian, and so says Dr Stanley Bass one of the oldest and most established Natural Hygienic Doctors...........
